Pure…genius…

It’s official. Mommy and daddy firemouth have moved the fry into their new nursery in a pit they dug next to their cave. Currently have a cloud of fry swimming around and the mom and dad have been very vigilant about keeping everyone else at bay.

Like previous Sciroccos/Corrados, this one is based on the current Golf platform and is supposed to be sportier and more upscale. The Scirocco will be on sale in the US in late 2008 as a 2009 model.

Autoblog - Scirocco Racer

A pair of my firemouths spawned.  They had taken up residence in one of the PVC caves I provided for exactly that purpose.  Eggs were plastered to the walls and the parents were busy defending the territory.  One of the pair had a dug a big pit in front of the cave (hopefully to move the newly hatched fry into).

Eggs hatched a couple days later (at least I assume they hatched as they were not there anymore).  Male is more out and about than before and the female is spending all day hiding.  Hopefully she gathered up the fry and carted them off somewhere deeper in the vegetation for protection.  I’ve been looking for fry for a couple days now but haven’t seen anything yet.
